Description

I purchased these 3 lovely coffee spoons from a dealer in Paris over 10 years ago. Two of the bowls were dinged badly, but I took them to Lawrence Miller in Old Town Alexandria, and he was able to bring them back to good condition.
The silver on the bowls is very thick, but as with these old silver spoons, there is a slight thinning over time on the tip at the edge. These have all been corrected, so unless you put both fingers on the bowl you cannot perceive it, unless you pick it up and inspect side by side.
They measure 6" in length.
They are marked as shown in the photos.
There are traces of armorials on the back, which someone must have made a hasty attempt to remove at some point, wearing down the filets at those spots, but the shape of the engraving can still be made out faintly.
These have what I would call a nice patina of wear and would be lovely in a beautfiul 18th century table setting with coffee cups or tea cups.
I was collecting 18th century French silver, but I have started to find new homes for these objects, as my interest in this period has changed.
I hope you will be able to love these as much as I have.
