    Description

    a stunning
antique French solid silver floral match safe.
The piece has both fineness marks and a maker's mark in a diamond shaped stamp, but both are too small to make out distinctly, but the two asymmetrical marks appear to be the boar stamp for 800 silver used from 1838-present.  The
diamond shaped maker's mark lozenge is typical for French pieces
    .
Both sides have a textured background.  One side has the iris flowers and a blank scroll cartouche.  The other side has the iris designs with small flowers stamped on the background.  There is a striker on the bottom.
The piece measures about 1 3/4 inches tall by 1 1/4 inches wide.  It is in excellent condition with just a couple minor dings, but no splits or damage and no monogram.  The spring hinge is tight and the case snaps shut evenly and securely.
