Here is a superb antique 1880's solid sterling silver and Baccarat crystal claret jug.
French
marks for
the silver:
MINERVA + silvermaker's mark.
The silvermaker is
Paul Canaux
in Paris ( a wellknown French silver maker ).
Activ in Paris from 1888 until 1892.
Delicate Baccarat cut crystal.
Quality is here.
This superb item is engraved under the base:
"Paul Morin Pons"
and dated
"1889"
Paul Morin Pons, son of a family of XIXth century French bankers was consul for Austria-Hungary.

The claret jug mesures
about 11 inches (280mm) in heigth.

is about 4.25 inches (110mm).

Condition
GOOD ANTIQUE CONDITION. No cracks, no chips, no repairs, only white spots on crystal inside the decanter and near the base only, very discrete and not noticeable when some wine inside.
