    Description

This is an interesting spoon made in Strasbourg c. 1839 by Jean Louis Buttner in .800 fine silver, the usual quality of Strasbourg silver. The guarantee mark shown was not used until 1838 and Buttner died in 1840. Schwartz was probably a retailer in
    Hagenau
, Germany. The spoon is typical style of a French spoon from the period, in excellent condition with a wide tip edge. Strasbourg silver is much sought after, and although this is a bit late, it is an interesting piece.
I have collected Strasbourg silver and will be selling other pieces here.
    It is 8 5/8

long, 21.6 cm , and weighs 2.05 troy ounces.
